Mothers Day workshop

Join me and my crafty Mum Margaret for this special workshop that combines bookbinding and feltmaking to create a colourful book inspired by spring. A chance to spend a crafty afternoon with your Mother or other – siblings, children, friends, cats, dogs…all welcome!

Usually me and mum book creative workshops for special days like this, it’s such a nice way to spend time together, and while it sucks big time that we have been unable to meet up in person, crafternoons on Zoom have been a great way to keep connected and spend some creative time with each other over lockdown!

So we’ve joined forces to combine our skills and create a workshop that invites you to do the same…

  • Join me and Mum (Margaret) on Zoom for a cuppa on Sunday 14 March from 10.30am – 12pm, I’ll introduce the book we’re making – an A6 leather covered number with colourful link stitching, and we’ll make a start on our books.
  • I’ll then leave you to make a zoom craft date with your Mother or other to carry on your making together, supported by a wee video tutorial that explains the stitching.
  • We’ll re-group on Zoom at 3pm to share our progress and Margaret (aka Mum) will show you how to make a number of nifty felted beads to incorporate into your book as a page divider and fastening.

A materials/tool kit is included, which provides everything you need to make your book & felt beads, plus a sweet treat and and yummy Eteaket Blooming Marvelous teabag to fuel your crafting. Just add scissors, a chopping board and some fairy liquid (all will be explained). *Kits now sold out but I have added an option to participate and provide your own materials, more info on this below.*

The books we’re making are inspired by a spring bouquet, so expect colourful threads and botanical papers in your kit to mark the start of a new season!

£1 of each ticket sale will be donated to the Oak Tree Animals’ Charity, where my mum volunteers and recently adopted my new sister & her best friend, Bonnie the Bichon Frise (who will also be joining the workshop).

Book your place

Kits for this workshop are now sold out but I have added this option if you would like to join the workshop and provide your own materials. Upon booking a materials/kit list will be sent to you which will explain in detail what you need and how to cut to size. This consists of leather or pleather, paper, thread and felt fibers, along with basic bookbinding tools.

Mothers Day workshop – workshop only – no kit

Join us for some wholesome crafting and bookbinding on Sunday 14 March – 2 live Zoom sessions and pre-recorded videos to work through in your own time.
