Over the past year and a half I have developed a number of online upcycled bookbinding courses, which initially ran via weekly Zoom Live sessions, accompanied by links to my step-by-step stitching videos. It has been great to meet book making newbies, curious creatives and bookbinding enthusiasts from across the country, and the world, as part of these classes, and I am happy to say I received some really positive feedback –
“I absolutely loved attending Cass’s online course! Cass had thought of everything. my materials kit arrived full of materials which she had lovingly collated according to my taste. the classes ran smoothly and each week were followed up with further instructional videos and links. Cass is a wealth of knowledge and very approachable and encouraging. The course was very reasonably priced and I produced books I am so proud of.I really cannot recommend enough!!” – Louise Potter
Due to popular demand (and pending baby on the way in December) I am currently re-working these classes into self-paced online courses, as well as adding a new edition, meaning that you can work through them at your own pace.
These curated courses each include 4 different book structures and share my passion for making books with remnant materials such as leather offcuts, textile samples, recycled card, paper, beads & buttons, and are a great option if you are keen to explore a range of different bookbinding techniques that incorporate everyday materials.
I will take you through each bookbinding project via a series of step-by-step videos which you will have continued access to so that you can return to them again and again. I only ask that you don’t share your log in details with any third parties.
All participants will also have exclusive access to a private Facebook group where you can ask questions, post your books in progress and share useful links & inspiration. A ‘Resources’ section and ‘Community Noticeboard’ is also included with links to recommended suppliers and I’ll be available should you have any questions. Baby dependent, I am also planning to host a series of accompanying Zoom Live make-along sessions – a chance to make together and meet fellow bookbinders.
A limited edition of materials kits will be released in the Autumn to compliment these courses, that include everything you need to make the books covered. There will also be the option to source your own materials using the kit-list provided.
Read on for an overview of the 3 courses I am currently working on. I am aiming to finalise details and open for booking in early October – sign up to my newsletter if you would like to be notified when you can book your place.
