I love spreading the bookbinding love and teach a range of upcycled bookbinding and printmaking workshops both from my studio in Edinburgh and in partnership with a wide range of community organisations and venues across Scotland, including:
- The Edinburgh Remakery
- The Arienas Collective
- At Birkhill House
- The Line Gallery
- Off the Rails Art House
- Granton Castle garden Walled Garden
I also love working collaboratively with other Artists and have developed a series of workshops which combine the craft of bookbinding with other artforms, including:
- Eco Printing with Elisabeth Viguie-Culshaw
- Cyanotype Printing with Kit Martin
- Papermaking with Alison Newman
These collaborative workshops generally take place over a weekend and aim to introduce a number of experimental mark making skills, with the opportunity to turn a selection of your prints into artists books and journals.
Due to Covid 19 I have had to cancel all physical workshops for the foreseeable and instead have been working on a range of Bookbinding Kits accompanied by easy to follow, step-by-step video tutorials. Creativity is so important at times like these so don’t despair, my kits contain everything you need to get creative around your kitchen table, with a few added extras to lighten your day! I am also beginning to reschedule workshops for the autumn – I will closely monitor the situation and if not safe / unable to go ahead you will be notified well in advance and offered a place on a future workshop:
- Print, Dye, Stitch – a creative workshop weekend / Granton:Hub, Edinburgh / 10.30am-4.30pm on 24-25 October
To keep updated on my workshops – sign up to my Bookbinding with Cass Newsletter, this goes out seasonally with a round up of workshops, plus details on exhibitions and events to spark your creativity – see my most recent newsletter here.
